Hello, my name is Michael Grün and I am currently studying Energy Engineering. What drives me is my passion for innovation. What I love doing is blending the principles of engineering with my imaginative mind to implement technology in ways that can produce better results. The aim of this page is to share with you some useful tips, strategies, and advice that could potentially be advantageous to you. I'm open to discussing things, so feel free to give me your feedback and ask me questions!

Throughout my existence, I've stumbled across several fascinating concepts. Upon delving into these notions, I endeavoured to weave them into my day-to-day experiences. A number of them proved quite successful, while certain others simply didn't mesh well with me. Over a period of time, an effective harmony emerged from an array of these concepts, stirring a desire to impart this enlightenment, for they notably enriched and brought joy to my life. It's for this reason I launched this webpage. Should you discover something here that resonates with you—even just one aspect—it would bring me immense pleasure, fulfilling the original purpose behind initiating this online space.

How this page is designed

I write some text and sometimes I draw a sketch to outline my message. It’s not a piece of art but it adds a personal charm and who knows maybe my skills will increase. I will leave that up to you. To increase readability I provide sources at the bottom of each page.

Free up your mind

the amount of information increases
the amount of information increases

We consume vast amounts of information daily, and this consumption is increasing tremendously. Not many people are aware of the fact that these ideas shape our minds. The mind wanders and builds our identity, making it of the utmost importance to carefully select the timing and sources of the information we consume. I have always preferred enduring information, something useful that provides an impulse to the mind in an interesting direction. Such content enhances conceptual thinking, enabling a more adaptable mind for new situations and challenges.

Friction

I add friction to things, especially information, I want to avoid. These things are not good for me and I only found out by trying. This is for instance your phone when you want to focus on your work. My number one thing that keept me from being in the present moment was my phone, so I decided to add friction to the access especially in situations and locations I don’t want to be distracted. For me this is when I intensively focus on a task and also when I am with friends. Also when i am in my bedroom. Right after the motto out of sight out of mind. This had a huge impact not only for additional time resources, but you are also more engaged in conversations. Try it, I didn’t even realise that something was missing.

In contrast I reduce friction to Ideas that I want to enjoy more often. This can be an instrument or a book which is placed on a spot you are passing by a lot. You can also agglomerate things that are good and deposit it in a place where often find them. For example on my phone I have a folder with apps which I have called ‘better than Instagram’, and inside there are a bunch of apps that I actually enjoy using. In front of my home I have a bench, which I can open and put things inside, there I have multiple items like a jumping rope or a balance board. When I get home from training or a run I get one item and use it. There a many possibilities to implement such ideas in your daily life. Get creative!
